Your Google Business Profile is the box that shows up on Google Search and Maps when someone looks up your business or searches for your trade nearby: your name, rating, hours, photos, service area and a call button. For a lot of customers it's the first thing they see and the last thing they check before they call. Many will call straight from it without ever opening your website.

A profile that's half filled in, with the wrong hours, three blurry photos and unanswered reviews, tells people you might not pick up either. A complete one — right categories, every service listed, the real service area, recent photos of real jobs, reviews answered — does the opposite. It also has to say the same thing as your website. When the name, services and area match everywhere, Google is more confident about who you are and where you work.
